Kindness will be at the heart of all you do as a Senior Care Assistant at HC One. It is applicable to all aspects of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes. Whether you’re teaching someone how to use a walking frame, assisting someone at the end of their life to eat a meal, or conversing on the phone with a resident’s family, you’ll do it with kindness first and foremost. Assisting the Registered Nurse and Care Manager, you will be responsible for delivering necessary physical and mental stimulation through a variety of social and recreational activities, as well as medication administration.
One of your primary obligations as a Senior Care Assistant is to keep accurate records of your work and to develop excellent relationships with the rest of your team.

About You
You should have a S/NVQ 2 or 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, experience with person-centered care planning, and experience caring for people with dementia. What matters most is your wonderful positive energy and natural ability to get along with others. You’ll understand what proper record keeping looks like and how to successfully manage your time. And you’ll be considerate and kind whenever you communicate with a resident or coworker.
Everyone is responsible for safeguarding, so it is critical that you understand the indicators that may signal probable abuse, harm, or neglect in its various forms and know what to do if there are any concerns. All colleagues must complete safeguarding training suited to their work as well as supplementary training in related areas. You can also seek appropriate advice and report issues, including escalation if suitable action is not done.
