Looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to join Lancashire County Council’s Network Design and Implementation Service, part of Digital Services.

Our Digital Services team has continuously strived for innovation and the discovery of new technologies to support and develop important services. Excitingly, the service recently underwent a 2.5-million-pound technology revamp, and it is now building solutions that use the newest hyper converged infrastructure and storage on-premise and in the cloud.

We are searching for a talented Linux administrator to join us on our drive to improve technologies and lead critical projects, designing creative solutions using Nutanix Hyper converged infrastructure and Azure Cloud. You will have a wide range of abilities developed via your expertise in design, technical assistance, and system analysis, including backup technologies and scripting languages.

We deliver digital services to the entire council utilising a variety of resources, therefore we’re looking for enthusiasm and competence. With so many projects and challenges available, this is an excellent opportunity to enhance your career as an ICT specialist.

 

We are looking for…

The ideal candidate will be passionate about data centre solutions and eager to improve existing programmes and systems. They should be technically inclined and capable of taking on lead design roles in certain projects. You will be comfortable and well-equipped to effectively communicate your technical solutions to the Senior Leadership Team and your colleagues – we need someone who is articulate and has excellent interpersonal skills, being able to tailor your communications appropriately for various audiences. Your prior experience and skills in this field will substantially enrich our service, offering a fresh perspective to the team.

Challenge: You will be a highly motivated self-starter who is ready to be challenged by our fast-paced work environment, coping with conflicting workloads and varied projects. In addition to creating highly comprehensive and documented designs, you will test and create your idea in preparation for implementation.
