-Position Overview: Hospital Pharmacist

We are currently seeking a talented and committed **Hospital Pharmacist** to join our pharmacy team. This role provides an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in hospital pharmacy manufacturing or commercial production to develop their career in a dynamic healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

As a Hospital Pharmacist within our trust, you will:

– **Pharmacy Manufacturing**: Work in a hospital pharmacy manufacturing unit, ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines and regulations, including Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
– **Patient Care**: Ensure safe and effective medication management, providing support to clinical teams and contributing to patient safety initiatives.
– **Collaboration**: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient care and service delivery.
– **Research and Development**: Engage in ongoing professional development, including audit, quality improvement projects, and research initiatives aimed at improving pharmacy services.
– **Training and Support**: Assist in the training and development of junior staff and pharmacy students.

Person Specification

Qualifications:

Essential

– Master’s degree in Pharmacy (MPharm).
– Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
– Commitment to continuing professional development (CPD) to maintain fitness to practice.

Experience:

Essential

– Proven experience in hospital pharmacy manufacturing or a relevant commercial production unit.
– Completion of the pre-registration training year.

Desirable

– Previous experience in a Pharmacy Manufacturing Unit.
– Experience working in a hospital setting, either during your pre-registration year or post-registration.

Knowledge:

Essential

– Understanding of Pharmacy Manufacturing Units and their role.
– Knowledge of the MHRA regulations and legislation governing pharmacy manufacturing.
– Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.

Skills & Abilities:

**Essential**
– Strong written and verbal communication skills.
– Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and the ability to use email and the internet.
– Ability to work accurately and efficiently while managing time and priorities.
– Capability to perform calculations related to drug or material manufacturing requirements.
– Ability to work well in a team environment and contribute to collaborative working.
