Job Description.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Define the strategic direction for groups of suppliers in your commodity. Lead the discussions and assign needs to specific vendors. Negotiate terms and conditions and share information across the team with Procurement and Fulfilment. Provide data analysis help to sourcing leadership, as well as negotiation assistance to buyers. The position also necessitates a hands-on attitude and a large degree of direct buying activity.
  • Uses in-depth understanding of a discipline and analytical thinking to carry out policy/strategies. Basic understanding of linked job specialties.
  • Serves as a resource for coworkers who have less experience. May manage minor projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains facts and develops skills for bringing team members to consensus on field-related topics. Conveys performance expectations and may manage delicate topics while serving as a role model for the team.
  • Jobs at this level have some autonomy but are subject to functional practices and precedents, or are governed by well-defined policies or end-result reviews. The role allows for the adjustment of work-related procedures and practices as long as the end results meet acceptable requirements.
  • To address more complex, day-to-day situations, some discretion is required, as well as the capacity to propose alternative solutions outside of specified constraints. Has the capacity to prioritise based on business demands. Utilises technical expertise and analytical thinking. To make choices, the team consults a variety of internal and restricted external sources outside of its own.

 

Required Qualifications

  • This position requires extensive knowledge in procurement, sourcing, and commodity management.
  • Proven negotiation experience.
  • Experienced with data and documentation, with a keen eye for detail
  • Has knowledge of best practices and how one’s own area combines with others, as well as an understanding of market rivalry and the variables that influence it.
  • There may be travel involved.
