About the Role:
Slough Borough Council operates an in-house waste and street cleansing service, and we are looking for an experienced and dedicated individual to join our team. As the Waste Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the waste, street cleansing, and transfer station staff, ensuring safe and efficient services are delivered to the residents of Slough.
You will hold the council’s ‘Waste Permit’ and must be able to provide evidence of a valid certificate of technical competency. You will work as part of a management team of five and report directly to the Head of Environmental Services. Additionally, you will be key in preparing for upcoming changes brought about by the Environment Act, including borough-wide food collection initiatives set to launch by April 2026, as well as changes related to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR).
