Pontypool Dialysis Unit is a dynamic 15-station unit that offers haemodialysis therapy to 60 patients in collaboration with the NHS Trust. The unit maintains a safe staffing ratio of 3:1 patient to nurse.

You will be completely supported and given great training and development, allowing you to deliver safe, high-quality, holistic nursing care to patients undergoing dialysis. We accept applications from registered general nurses with diverse backgrounds, as well as freshly certified nurses.

Responsibilities:

 

  • To acquire and expand theoretical understanding and practical abilities in the treatment of a dialysis patient.

 

  • To demonstrate competent and efficient patient assessment care needs, coordinating with the unit link role resources and multidisciplinary team, to ensure patients receive the best care.

 

  • To provide proactive mentorship to the team by serving as a resource in the unit team and encouraging patients, qualified nurses, ancillary staff, and student nurses to share knowledge and skills.

 

  • To promote and maintain professional connections with both patients and Trust staff in order to enhance business excellence and collaboration with B Braun Avitum UK Ltd.

 

  • Work within Avitum Policies and Procedures and adhere to the Quality Manual and Environmental, Health, and Safety Guidelines.

 

Expertise is required:

 

  • Qualified nurse with current NMC registration.

 

  • Dedicated to providing excellent patient care.

 

  • Committed and eager to acquire new skills.

 

  • An outstanding communicator.

 

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

 

  • Aptitude for learning clinical skill techniques

 

  • Flexible to meet the demands of the patients or unit.

 

Please keep in mind that remuneration is pro-rata for part-time work and will be determined by past dialysis or acute care experience.

 

Hours worked:

 

  • Full-time position working 37.5 hours a week.
  • Three 11.5-hour shifts every week, with an additional top-up shift every four weeks.
  • Long Day = 07:00 to 18:30
  • Monday through Saturday on a rotating shift system.
  • No working on Sundays.
  • No night shifts.
  • We expect employees to work flexibly and in shifts according to the needs of the business.
