Project / Principal A Civil Engineer with relevant industry experience, a degree in Civil Engineering, and a hands-on approach to detail design is needed for a well-established engineering practice.

JOB OVERVIEW.

We want a Project / Principal Civil Engineer with relevant industry experience, a degree in Civil Engineering, and a hands-on approach to detail design.

As the Project / Principal Civil Engineer, you will be a vital member of the team, working on infrastructure, highways, earthworks, and drainage designs for construction schemes from the early stages of inception and planning to detailed design, construction, and handover.

This position is ideal for an engineer with previous experience working in the civil engineering industry. This position’s primary responsibility will also be to train and manage junior engineers and technicians.

The company has four offices and roughly 100 employees. They promote collaborative working across all disciplines and offices, with the role providing significant exposure to and collaboration opportunities with other disciplines such as geotechnical, structural, and façade engineering teams, with a clear emphasis on developing close working relationships throughout the business.

 

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

The requirements for the Project / Principal Civil Engineer include the following:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., ICE). You may be striving towards chartership status or are already chartered.
  • Significant UK construction industry design consultation experience in a variety of sectors, including residential.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and client liaison experience.
  • A hands-on commitment to detail design, as well as a thorough awareness of essential codes and current industry standards
  • Ability to communicate clearly, confidently, and professionally.
  • Ability to produce clear and succinct technical reports.
  • Ability to mentor more junior coworkers.
