Job Summary
Be in charge of overseeing large capital projects and serving as the Estates and Facilities Clinical Business Unit’s technical support team.
The Multi-Disciplinary Estates Team includes the Capital Planning and Development Team, which answers to the Chief of Hard Facilities Management. As determined by the Trust’s Capital Program, the post holder will take the lead on all engineering and construction aspects of allocated projects, including infrastructure design, from conception to completion. Projects at Trusts’ locations as well as other sites as needed are included in the Capital Program.
The position holder will be responsible for the project that is in their charge and manage internal personnel, outside consultants, and contractors to deliver projects in compliance with established schedules and financial constraints.

Main Duties
Handle project budgets, taking full ownership and responsibility for all budgets allotted and expenditures made in accordance with trust SFI’s, guaranteeing the best value for money, accurate and prompt reporting, cost savings, and strict adherence to trust procurement regulations. This will include simultaneously handling the budgets for multiple separate projects.
● Make ensuring that all hiring decisions, contracts, and payments are made in conformity with the NHS capital planning guidelines and the Trust’s standing orders.
● Using Cost Consultants as necessary, develop project feasibility studies with Users and Design Teams to be included in capital bid submissions on behalf of the Associate Director Estates & Capital Development.
● Responsible for interpreting building codes, health and safety laws, including CDM, estate and capital development requirements, and other legal obligations relating to construction contracts.
