Main responsibilities, tasks, and abilities required
With a forward-thinking attitude, you can:
Be in charge of coordinating workflow throughout the dispensary, offering services for inpatients, outpatients, and discharge medications.
Oversee daily operations in the main Dispensary, aiming to meet daily key performance indicators (KPIs).
Provide supervision for training, health and safety, and inventory management.
Act as a role model by ensuring proper waste management, reducing expired medication and stock losses, and adhering to Controlled Drug rules.
You’ll have:
A nationally approved Pharmacy Technician qualification and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
An approved accuracy-checking qualification.
Significant experience working in a hospital pharmacy setting.
The capacity to lead a busy team and inspire others.
A flexible approach to meeting the needs of the service.
This position provides in-service development training and the ability to build essential leadership and management abilities. It will be necessary to rotate participation in the evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

Qualifications
Essential
Must include the following:
*Registration with the GPhC.
*Dispensing Accuracy Accreditation. West Midlands scheme or an equal.
*Evidence of ongoing professional development.
*Accredited Checking Technician (National Framework or equivalent).
Add one of the following:
*Level 3 Diploma in Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians.
OR
*BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science and Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills.
OR
*Equivalent as defined by the General Pharmaceutical Council
Experience
Essential
*Currently working as a band 4 pharmacy technician / equivalent or above, with post-qualification experience in an acute situation.
*The ability to demonstrate the appropriate degree of knowledge and practical expertise for the position.
*Experience performing the specialty function for the area of responsibility.
*Demonstrates significant experience in the pharmacy context.
*Experience managing other levels of workers and their tasks.
*Experience adhering to policies and procedures.
*Experience in a hospital setting.
*Deputising for senior workers, coordinating daily workflow, and managing situational staff.
*Understanding of Good Distribution Practices (GDP).
*Workplace health and safety, including COSHH.
*Understanding of the stock control and supply operations.

*Knowledge about medications, adverse effects, and where to get more information.
