The salary range for Grade UE07 is £37,099 to £44,263 per year. A new range of £39,347 to £46,974 is set to take effect in Spring 2024.
College of Science and Engineering / EPCC.
Fixed-term contract – temporary – two years.
Full-time – 35 hours each week.
EPCC is the UK’s premier facility for supercomputing and data analytics, having a global reputation for computational science and supercomputing research. Our facilities and skills are unparalleled in Europe. Currently, we host and maintain the largest supercomputer in the UK (ARCHER2), and we have been chosen to host the UK’s first Exascale supercomputer.
At EPCC, we share a passion for innovation employing cutting-edge technology, a love of solving challenging problems, and a commitment to make a real difference for our academic, public, and private sector partners and clients. Rolls-Royce and the UK Met Office are among our collaborators.
The Exascale era is arrived, and EPCC is active in a wide range of High-Performance Computing research. We are currently working on a number of projects, ranging from the underlying hardware and systemware required for the Exascale to the optimisation of applications and the development of entirely new applications specifically designed for (likely heterogeneous) systems with extreme levels of parallelism.
The coming years will bring the most significant challenge to supercomputing ever. Join us, and you will be at the cutting edge of computational science and supercomputing research and development.
We are looking for graduates and engineers to work as Applications Consultants on project-oriented research in High-Performance Computing, focusing on software development, performance optimisation, and cross-cutting research. Experience designing numerical programmes in C/C++ or Fortran is essential, and understanding of parallel computing is strongly preferred.
These are full-time, two-year fixed-term positions (with a significant possibility of extension).
As a respected part of our team, you should expect:
A stimulating, cheerful, creative, demanding, and gratifying environment to work. We help you, develop your skill, and reward accomplishment.
