Full or part-time domiciliary optometrist position, Sheffield, Package of £74,000+ plus £10,000 welcome bonus, mid-week only, company car provided.

As a Domiciliary Optometrist, you will be able to work directly with patients who may have trouble accessing standard optometry practices, ensuring that they receive personalised, professional, and sensitive care. This fulfilling position allows you to have a major impact on the lives of those who need it the most!

On a typical day, you will see 6-7 patients at home and up to 16 patients in a care home setting. You’ll have complete freedom to run testing and manage your clinic without commercial demands. You will also be given cutting-edge equipment, such as a digital fundus camera, mobile slit lamp, I-care tonometer, retinoscope, and an innovative digital records system that eliminates paperwork, all neatly packaged in a lightweight box.

Key Duties

 

  • Providing a compassionate and patient-centered approach, especially when working with those who may require more care and support during the examination process.
  • Take a hands-on attitude, be eager to participate, and create relationships with the rest of the team.
  • The position requires 3 to 5 days per week, with no weekend or bank holiday work.
  • Conducting complete eye examinations, including the prescription of corrective lenses, and diagnosing any eye health issues.
  • Have a great enthusiasm for providing high levels of customer service and professional competence.
  • Ensure that you deliver good customer service at all times.
  • Clinic hours are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., however you must be willing to drive up to 50 miles from your home location. and be confident driving in both built-up regions and on motorways.

Key Skills, Qualifications, and Client Requirements

 

  • GOC Registered as an Optometrist or shortly to receive NHS/GOC if recently finished or approaching OSCE.
  • Tier 2 visa sponsorship is available.
  • Full UK driving licence.
