Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

37.5 hours.
Fixed Term: 12 months
An amazing opportunity has arisen for an experienced registered neonatal nurse to join our Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse team on the Neonatal Unit. The position holder will be welcomed into a large and supportive Neonatal team.
We are searching for a highly motivated and active Neonatal Nurse with clinical skills in providing specialised care to neonates and their families. You will need to show leadership within the team, have strong communication skills, and be able to foster a culture of collaboration and learning.
Hull University Teaching Hospital NHS Trust NICU is a well-known level 3 Tertiary facility in the Yorkshire and Humber Neonatal Network. The Neonatal Service has 33 cots in total, including 7 intensive care, 10 high dependency, 12 special care, and 4 transitional care, and provides a high-quality service to the network and beyond.
We strive for clinical excellence and are searching for people who are enthusiastic and highly driven, with neonatal nursing experience. Applicants must be registered nurses with a Neonatal Speciality qualification and mentorship experience.
The position holder will work clinically as an important member of the nursing team. You will collaborate with the Unit managers to deliver highly skilled clinical practice, serve as a role model, and lead a ward-based team of qualified and unqualified workers.
The post holder will be responsible for daily coordination of the Neonatal Unit and ensuring a good patient experience by providing high-quality evidence-based patient care.
The chosen applicant will play an important role in the team’s staff and service development. You will be required to coordinate care on a daily basis. This function will also need participation in audits, benchmarking, and certain supervisory responsibilities. It is necessary to have strong communication and team-building skills, as well as the capacity to support and grow employees.
