We are a prominent organisation focusing in animal health and committed to aiding the cattle sector. We specialise in integrated livestock management practices and offer comprehensive solutions and practical skills to assure animal health, productivity, and welfare.
This role reports to the Head of Marketing, Integrated Livestock Business Unit, and is in charge of developing and implementing the marketing strategy for a defined portfolio of Animal Health (AH) products in order to meet sales, product positioning, market growth, and profitability objectives.
This position is based at our Milton Keynes headquarters, with hybrid working options possible.
Responsibilities:
- Developing strategic and operational marketing strategy for major AH products in partnership with the business unit leadership team.
- Devising and implementing successful marketing strategies across a selected product range (including new product releases) to achieve increase in sales and profitability while staying within the agreed-upon budget
- Actively participate in the preparation of the business unit’s operating plan.
- Actively engaged in the creation of marketing projects in the BU, introducing innovation and helping to strategy formulation.
- Working with AH colleagues in species teams to develop specific annual plans and objectives for promotions and campaigns in line with the overall AH marketing strategy and priorities, including new product/service launches and in-market product life-cycle management.
- To create separate strategic and tactical marketing plans (including budgets) for the portfolio in charge.
- Review, amend, and communicate sales estimates and minimum inventory levels to direct production and delivery, taking into consideration promotional programmes, seasonal fluctuations, and market demand to predict and meet customer demand generated by the marketing strategy.
Qualifications, Skill, and Experience:
- Degree level in life science, business, or related qualification, and ideally a CIM diploma or certificate.
- Good understanding and expertise with appropriate marketing concepts and principles, such as brand, product, or category management in FMCG, OTC, the Animal Production Industry, or the Animal Feeds Sector.
- Experience with digital marketing is very desirable.
- Understanding the pharmaceutical sales function and expertise in a sales capacity would be advantageous.
- Strong communication skills – verbal and written; fluency in English is required.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Commercial acumen includes a thorough awareness of industry-relevant financial data and the ability to assess and interpret a variety of financial information.
- Ability to gather, evaluate, and interpret industry-relevant market intelligence and market research data to draw conclusions and offer innovative solutions.
- Effective time management, project management, and organisational skills
- Established capacity to lead, influence, and encourage teams that do not report directly to the post, such as cross-functional teams.
- Ability to brief and manage relationships with external suppliers and creative agencies.
