Education & Professional Qualifications
Essential criteria
- BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences and NVQ Pharmacy Services Level 3, or equivalent.
- Currently registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician.
Desirable requirements.
- Accredited Checking Technician (ACT) or ready to work on this
- QCF A1 workplace assessor award or working towards it.

Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant and verifiable post-qualification hospital pharmacy experience.
- Previous assessable experience/understanding of the JAC Pharmacy Computer System (or equivalent).
- Computer literate, especially Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability and awareness of how to appropriately and rapidly gather accurate medication histories and contribute to medicines reconciliation.
Desirable requirements.
- Previous assessable managerial/supervisory experience and training
- Previous assessable experience in recruiting and selecting personnel
Skills and Aptitudes
Essential criteria
- Exhibit outstanding verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills (with patients and staff at all levels).
- Ability to operate individually and as part of a team.
- Prove your skill to dispense accurately.
- Show a proven capacity to consult and advise patients/caregivers on drugs.
- Excellent awareness of computerised systems for stock control management
- Demonstrate the ability to prioritise and organise one’s own workload as well as that of those controlled.
- Methodical ways of functioning and solid decision-making capabilities
- Pay attention to detail.
Desirable requirements.
- Demonstrate the capacity to handle disagreement and complaints (with patients and staff at all levels).
- Demonstrate the ability to organise, organise, and administer induction and competency training.
