Summary

 

Sanskrit Restaurant Ltd, an exciting new Indian takeaway/restaurant opening in Newcastle, is looking for a passionate, talented, and experienced Indian Head Chef to lead our culinary adventure and push our Indian food to new heights.

What are we looking for?

– At least five years of experience as a chef in a successful Indian kitchen.

– Experience in the catering business.

– Proven track record of producing excellent and authentic Indian cuisine.

– Worked in several parts of an Indian kitchen, including Tandoor, Prep, Curry, and Starters.

– Thorough awareness of UK food safety and hygiene requirements, as well as how to keep the kitchen in compliance on a daily basis.

– Experience beginning a restaurant business and managing kitchen logistics for a new business (soft opening, grand opening, etc.)

– Excellent organisational and leadership abilities

– Capability to perform successfully under pressure and manage numerous activities concurrently.

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

– Passion for cuisine and a willingness to continuously innovate and improve.

– Brownie points if you can bring some of your contacts over to the Sanskrit brand to boost our customer base.

 

Your responsibilities:

– Lead our culinary crew, creating a collaborative and positive work atmosphere.

– Hiring and training the kitchen personnel.

– Train other cooks to fill in for the chief chef in their absence.

– Create a signature menu that combines genuine Indian foods with your own creative twist. Coming up with unique recipes for special occasions.

– Perform recipe testing and training for kitchen workers.

– Use high-quality ingredients from local providers whenever feasible.

– Ensure thorough compliance with all UK hygiene and food safety regulations.

– Oversee food preparation to ensure consistency and perfect presentation.

– Manage kitchen inventory and costs efficiently.

– Create and implement catering menus for events and occasions.

– Stay current on industry trends and procedures.

– Weekend work is expected because the shop is open 24 hours a day. Opening hours are listed below.

Opening Hours:

Mon-Fri: 11:30am to 2pm AND 4pm to 11pm
Saturday, Sunday: 3pm to 11pm.

Location:

Newcastle, Long Benton.
