Summary

 

Job Purpose:

To help run a petrol station efficiently and effectively, guaranteeing great customer service, adherence to business regulations, and the facility’s seamless functioning.

Reports to the Store Manager.

 

Key Accountabilities:

1. Budgetary Management:

– Maximise revenue while staying within the company’s budget.

2. Customer service:

– Set an example of excellent customer service for the team.

– Ensure that workers provide exceptional customer service at all times.

– Fill in for Sales Assistant/Supervisor tasks as needed.

3. Stock Control:

– Effectively control stock levels.

– Place stock orders and manage deliveries in accordance with corporate processes.

– Maintain stock rotation and perform frequent date checks.

– Maintain stock replenishment and conduct frequent stock takes.

4. Site Presentation and Merchandising:

– Ensure the store is well-presented, with all point-of-sale materials displayed according to planograms.

– Maintain a good level of housekeeping across the site.

5. Fuel and Forecourt Management:

– Manage gasoline orders and verify they meet company and statutory requirements.

6. Administration:

– Perform effective and timely paperwork and administrative responsibilities for the site.

– Manage and maintain all site systems (such as Torex, back-office IT, and CCTV).

– Implement promotions in a timely fashion.

7. Security:

– Follow security protocols to protect the safety of the premises, employees, cash, inventory, and property.

– Serve as a key holder, responding to alarm activations outside of usual business hours.

8. Personnel Management:

– Manage personnel rotations to maintain adequate site coverage.

– Motivate and supervise personnel to provide exceptional customer service and behave appropriately.

– Delegate site responsibilities effectively.

– Offer on-the-job training and development opportunities.

– Hold performance discussions and report any instances of poor performance or misconduct to the Area Manager.

– Organise holiday plans effectively.

– Show excitement and dedication via leadership.

9. Communication :

– Maintain regular communication with the Area Manager regarding the site’s daily operations and competitor activities.

– Share corporate information, policy updates, and procedures with employees through notice boards, staff meetings, or other suitable channels.

– Communicate with external agencies, authorities, and suppliers as needed.

10. Site Maintenance & Hygiene:

– Manage equipment care and repair, promptly reporting any difficulties.

– Maintain hygiene and cleanliness standards through routine cleaning.

11. Training

– Conduct induction and on-the-job training to help employees reach their full potential.

12. Legal compliance:

– Serve as the licence holder for the sale of alcohol (if applicable) and follow all relevant regulatory regulations.

– Comply with the legal criteria for selling petroleum spirit.

– Perform regular date and temperature checks.

– Ensure full compliance with all Trading Standards requirements.

13. Health and Safety:

– Follow all Health & Safety rules and regulations.

– Ensure that workers are informed of processes and their duties.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary Range: $26,000 to $28,000
