  • Electrical Engineer: Tendering and Estimating (Visa Sponsorship)
  • Wakefield or Stockton?
  • £40,000–£60,000 + Company Car/Car Allowance + Bonus up to 10% + Employee Assistant Scheme

 

Excellent chance for someone with an Electrical Engineering background to join a developing company with a strong reputation and ties to one of the UK’s leading energy suppliers.

This organisation has established itself in the sector and aims to be the preferred contractor for power transmission and generation projects. The company is an independent connections provider with its own in-house design team that offers a wide range of services, from substation construction and maintenance to multi-utility projects.

In this post, you will be in charge of preparing cost estimates for a variety of projects, primarily power transmission, and will play an active role in the tendering process with the Tendering Manager. This will include analysing customer drawings and specifications, preparing bids, and attending bid meetings.

The ideal candidate will have a background in electrical engineering and work experience in the civil or utility sectors. The ideal applicant will have strong communication skills, the ability to bargain with clients, and be pleasant. A good candidate will be motivated and focused on providing excellent service to their own client base.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has previous industry experience but wants to solidify their career with a respectable organisation with bright future potential.

The role involves obtaining accurate quotes for design, supply, products, and services, presenting proposals to clients, communicating and negotiating with clients, suppliers, and contractors, providing detailed project files to the project management team, and assisting with tendering and project delivery stages.

 

The person:

* Must have HNC (or higher) in Electrical Engineering.

* High Voltage Experience

* Experience with Civil Engineering, Utilities, or Power Transmission industries

* Understanding of the LV, HV, and EHV distribution networks and protection systems.

* Possesses a full UK driving licence and is comfortable travelling to client locations.
