Retail Store Assistant
£11.44 per hour, plus benefits
Reports to the shop manager.
Department:Trading
Location: Dumfries Shop.
Contract: FTC 6 months.
Working hours: Part-time 15 hours a week.
Closing date: July 24, 202 at 23:55.This vacancy may close earlier if a large number of applications are received or whenever a suitable applicant is located.
**The internal title for this position is Shop Assistant.

We are searching for a motivated retail assistant to join the Cancer Research UK trading team. You’ll serve as an advocate for Cancer Research UK. Your shop will be a location for your community to meet our staff, learn about our brand, and witness some of the amazing things we do.
You’ll also be surrounded by others who are equally committed to conquering cancer as you are.
What shall I do?
- Providing exceptional customer and supporter service.
- Working as a key member of the retail team to meet ambitious sales and fundraising goals.
- Assisting in maintaining shop standards such as visual appearance, compliance, and health and safety.
- Developing links with your local community and Cancer Research UK colleagues.
- Supporting fundraising activities to help your store meet fundraising goals.
- Accepting keyholder responsibilities as needed (training offered).
- The role will entail a wide range of manual handling and physical exertion on a daily basis.
What are you looking for?
- An awareness of what constitutes excellent customer service.
- Worked in a busy customer service environment.
- The ability to manage your own workload and work independently as needed.
- The ability to work well in a team.
- Excellent communication abilities.
