About your new role.
Our market-leading Employment, Pensions, and Immigration team advises firms throughout the UK on all elements of employment, pension, and immigration legislation. We are now looking for a Sales Manager to join the HR Rely team.
This post will be directly related to HR Rely, our flagship product that offers fixed-fee employment, HR, and advice services to organisations.
Primary objectives
- To assist the New Business Development Lead and Client Relationship Officers in leading the sales operations for Weightmans HR Rely (and additional products as needed).
- Provide practical assistance to the New Business Development Lead and HR Rely Client Relationship Officers (and other client-facing fee earners) to ensure that critical business development opportunities and targets are realised.
- Prospect and create new business prospects, whether from new targets in existing industries, new market sectors, or from Weightmans’ current client base.
- Reporting to the New Business Development Lead.
Key responsibilities.
- Generating new business sales leads with both target and existing clients, working closely with Client Relationship Owners, the Head of Sales Enablement, and members of the New Business team as necessary.
- Meeting potential purchasers of legal products and services in Weightmans’ offices, at their location, at events, or selling over the phone and/or remotely.
- Manage the sales pipeline for new, current, and existing business prospects within HR. Rely on and monitor the effectiveness of all associated sales activities.
- Collaborate with the New Business Development Lead and CROs to generate profitable new business income, while capturing and recording learnings from sales activities and projects to improve future activities.
- Work on behalf of the firm to create ties with external organisations that are possible introducers or referrers of clients.
- Identifying development potential in market sectors or geographical locations.

About You
Key Skills and Experience
- Significant experience selling in a business-to-business services setting, ideally involving exposure to and market knowledge of the professional services area.
- A proven track record of prospecting and creating new business, coupled with a history of closing deals.
- Motivated, self-starter with a successful sales record.
- Strong questioning and active listening abilities to develop understanding of the clients’ demands.
- Proven ability to instantly establish rapport and trust.
- Excellent negotiating abilities mixed with a highly commercial attitude
- Strong project and time management abilities, as well as organisational capabilities.
- Confident, assertive, and resilient.
- A self-starter who can work alone and is aggressive in producing ideas and solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, both written and oral.
- HR/Employment expertise is beneficial but not needed.
