Key Responsibilities:

  • Post-Mortem Inspections: Conduct detailed inspections of carcasses and offal to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure slaughterhouses and cutting plants meet stringent food hygiene and animal welfare regulations.
  • Disposal Supervision: Oversee the proper disposal of unfit meat in accordance with industry guidelines.
  • Reporting: Write detailed reports following inspections, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Regulation Updates: Stay informed about new and updated regulations in the meat hygiene sector.
  • Previous Inspections: Ensure recommendations from earlier inspections are being followed effectively.
  • Team Collaboration: Provide critical support to the Official Veterinarian as part of a team dedicated to upholding hygiene and safety standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine (required).
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience working with red meat slaughter lines is preferred, but full training will be provided.
  • Language: Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
  • Driving License: A valid driving license for travel between inspection sites.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of health, safety, and hygiene practices within the meat industry.
  • Team Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.

Work Schedule:

  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (6:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
  • No weekends: This role offers a Monday to Friday schedule to ensure a healthy work-life balance.
