Physician – CARE Program

Location:

BC Women’s Hospital & Health Centre, Vancouver, BC

Facility Overview:

BC Women’s Hospital & Health Centre (BCW) is dedicated to women’s health, serving as a major maternity facility in Canada with over 7,000 births annually. It provides specialized services for women of all ages, emphasizing research, education, and professional development in women’s health.

Role Overview:

The Physician in the CARE Program will focus on clinical care, teaching, and research in family planning and abortion services. The role involves teaching medical students, participating in residency programs, contributing to research, and taking on-call responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain active Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Participate in teaching, including medical students and residents.
• Engage in research projects and present findings.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in quality assurance programs.
• Provide after-hours on-call support for patient inquiries.

Qualifications:

• Advanced training and experience in family planning and abortion services.
• Registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the College of Physicians & Surgeons of British Columbia.
• Leadership or administrative experience is beneficial.
• Eligibility for a faculty appointment at the University of British Columbia is preferred.
