Industrial Electrician – Heavy Industry Operations

The role

Stegra is building one of the world’s most advanced sustainable steel plants in Boden, and we are now looking for skilled industrial electricians to strengthen our electrical maintenance team within the Hot Mill division. In this position, you will work directly with crucial systems that keep our operations safe, efficient, and reliable.

Your daily tasks will involve both preventive and corrective maintenance on low- and medium-voltage equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. You will work closely with the Electrical Maintenance Manager and play a vital role in the smooth operation of some of the industry’s most innovative processes.

Main responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections, repairs, and replacements for transformers, circuit breakers, wiring systems, fixtures, and related components.
  • Carry out both scheduled servicing and urgent repairs on industrial electrical systems.
  • Use technical drawings, schematics, and diagnostic tools to identify and resolve faults.
  • Program and configure automation systems and electrical controls, especially in industrial environments utilizing Siemens or Honeywell solutions.
  • Support improvements in preventive maintenance routines and contribute to operator training on basic maintenance tasks.
  • Implement safe work routines, including Lockout-Tagout, and uphold a tidy and safe working area.
  • (Optional) Join the internal emergency response team, following additional training and medical clearance.

Desired qualifications

  • Secondary education in electrical engineering or equivalent vocational qualification.
  • Experience in a heavy industrial environment. Background in steel production is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with industrial automation systems.
  • Documented workplace safety training (ESA/OHSA or equivalent), with knowledge of Swedish/EU safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English; Swedish skills are helpful but not required.
  • Ability to work independently and handle shift-based schedules.
  • Interest in rescue training; prior experience is meritorious.
