Job description
“Are you good at project management?” Are you eager to assist the City in becoming carbon neutral? Do you like working in a variety of places, especially on the open road?
In order for the Council to meet its objective to going carbon neutral by 2030, parking services are crucial. This position is essential to providing the city’s citizens, visitors, and companies with an efficient electric vehicle charging service.
About the role
This is a new position that was first funded by the LEVI fund of the federal government. The chosen candidate will receive training and assistance. You may find more details here. Application for funding from Local EV Infrastructure (LEVI) – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
You will implement a program of installing electric vehicle charging stations using your project management abilities. On the public highway, you will apply your technical understanding and implementation skills as well as your knowledge of civil engineering. This is done to make sure we adhere to laws and are in line with the objectives of local politics and the overall national policy.
Your strong communication abilities will be frequently put to use to:
● Public meetings are a good place to discuss the project’s advantages with the general public.
● Make presentations and prepare reports.
● Consult with a variety of current and potential users.
● Cooperating with contractors to install the charging stations.
● Connect with outside partners like nearby government bodies, outside stakeholders, and grant givers.
● Cooperate on projects with UK Power Network and charge point providers.
● Internal participants like elected officials and transportation staff.
You will be able to work independently, with flexibility, and with a problem-solving and delivery-focused attitude to work if you have a great eye for detail and a solid understanding of how the electricity network functions.
This is a permanent position.

If the aforementioned position is shorter than 37 hours or is merely term-time, your starting pay will be prorated.
