Role Overview: EAP Advice Line Counsellor
We are seeking a proactive and qualified Psychotherapist/Counsellor to join our team. The role involves delivering professional counselling services and overseeing the engagement of others in the service, with a start date of January 6th, 2025.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Assessments: Conduct phone and video screening assessments, focusing on client strengths and challenges, and implement appropriate risk management plans.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate crisis counselling and interventions, identifying client needs and directing them to appropriate resources.
- Communication: Serve as the first point of contact via phone, SMS, live chat, and WhatsApp, maintaining high standards of customer service.
- Collaboration: Work closely with clinical and non-clinical teams to ensure a seamless client experience.
- Administrative Duties: Participate in team meetings, handle cases requiring investigation, and support service development.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Level 5 or higher qualification in Counselling or Psychotherapy.
- Experience: Minimum of 200 post-qualified counselling hours.
- Professional Membership: Must be registered or accredited with a professional body (e.g., IACP, BACP, BPC, NCPS, UKCP, etc.).
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong empathy, listening skills, and excellent verbal and written communication.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with short-term therapeutic models like CBT.
- Previous experience in a busy EAP service.
- Familiarity with handling clients over phone lines and video consultations.
