In order to successfully complete Post Let Projects as part of the GDOT Office of Alternative Delivery, HNTB’s Atlanta Office is looking for a Deputy Project Manager. This position supports the profitable operation of a Georgia Department of Transportation project by managing a team of civil engineers. Task management for the project’s technical needs, budget, schedule, contractual duties, communications, and performance is within their purview.

 

 

 

What You Will Do:

 

  • In charge of creating the project scope and cost estimate, as well as helping to write technical proposals and contracts that adhere to HNTB’s sophisticated contracting approach (SCA).

 

  • Organises the project’s activities assigns personnel to tasks and sets priorities. creates a daily activity summary inspection report. keeps track of the contractor’s advancement and contrasts it with the approved progress plan. Handles technical field problems and works with engineers and architects to ensure that information requests are answered accurately and promptly.

 

  • oversees project controls, which include examining the controls of contractors, arranging schedules, and reviewing the schedule of builders.

 

  • Examines submissions to make sure they follow the plans and requirements. Together with the contractor, develops plans to provide submittal packages that meet schedule specifications.

 

  • applies HNTB’s Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) to every project in order to carry out the company’s project delivery plan. oversees the creation and application of the project management strategy. oversees and guides the team towards the overarching goals of the project. finds and fixes work that is not in compliance.

 

  • offers contract plans and specifications interpretation and enforcement. Together with the contractor, develops plans to provide submittal packages that meet schedule specifications.

 

  • Writes change orders, creates estimates, bargains for prices, and verifies change order requests.

 

  • offers project cost control as well as discipline-specific quality control.

 

  • Partners with Client Service Leaders and pursuit champions to assist with business growth, strengthening client relationships, and pursuit efforts for strategic and mini-mega projects in accordance with HNTB’s Sophisticated Sales Approach (SSA). creates suitable proposal and presentation materials in collaboration with the project team and marketing resources. Leads proposal development and interview presentations for strategic and mini-mega projects to the customer as well as general presentations within the industry and community.

 

  • May be responsible for the recruiting, employment, development, and retention of construction staff, including development of strategy for staff reporting, performance and compensation reviews, and succession.

 

  • carries out additional tasks as given.

 

 

 

 

What is required:

 

  • a bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management, or a related degree and eight years of relevant experience,

 

  • Twelve years of relevant experience, in place of formal education.

 

 

 

 

What You’ll Bring:

 

  • securing contracts and effectively completing minor projects with 4for4 (quality, timeliness, affordability, and client satisfaction). Identifying and escalating risk and change management concerns, with monitoring from more experienced people.

 

  • directing a group of workers on a smaller job order or project that has none or few subconsultants.

 

  • Utilising system tools to oversee, coordinate, and carry out task orders or smaller projects.

 

  • making use of the Office Management Team to help with the application of HNTB Sophisticated processes to the project.

 

  • coordinating on a smaller project or task order with your peer at the client level.

 

  • Both carrying out some of the technical work and advising team and task leads on technical matters.

 

 

Our Preference:

 

  • nine years in related field.

 

  • Thirteen years of relevant experience in place of formal education.

 

  • The National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Level III, Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or Professional Engineer (PE)
