Exciting Opportunity: Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist in Community Eating Disorders Service

Join our vibrant, established community service where you’ll become part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team and a growing nursing group. Our nursing staff bring a wealth of expertise, including a Band 8 Lead Nurse, three Band 7 nurses, two Band 6 nurses, and rotating student nurses. We’re committed to your growth, offering plenty of on-the-job learning and tailored training to help you thrive in this position. You will benefit from regular one-on-one clinical and managerial guidance from a Band 7 nurse each month, plus group sessions for shared nursing insights.
This role is a fantastic chance to make a real difference in the lives of young individuals and their loved ones right in the community. You’ll build valuable skills in managing eating disorders, conducting thorough clinical evaluations, and overseeing physical health checks.
We adhere to the 2015 NHSE guidelines for community eating disorders, prioritizing quick and proactive support for every young person we serve. Our service stands out as one of the best in the country, delivering outstanding results and earning the prestigious CARE Excellence accreditation. Our hours run from Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, with a flexible blend of in-person and virtual sessions based on what works best for the young person and their family. We’re open to part-time or adjustable schedules to suit your needs.
In this position, you’ll collaborate closely with young people, their families, and fellow healthcare experts to deliver meaningful therapies and interventions. We’ll equip you with the necessary training and ongoing assistance to implement Family-Based Treatment (FBT) for eating disorders, aligning with NICE recommendations.
