Position Overview

As a Senior Bridge Engineer, you will play a leadership role in delivering complex infrastructure projects across the Northeast. You’ll provide technical guidance, serve as a subject matter expert, and ensure that all engineering solutions meet both industry standards and HNTB’s high-quality benchmarks. This position requires both strong technical proficiency and the ability to collaborate across teams and with clients.

This role offers opportunities to mentor staff, contribute to proposals, represent the firm on advisory committees, and position yourself as a trusted advisor to clients. Visa sponsorship is available for qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform independent technical reviews and provide guidance on complex or unusual engineering projects.
  • Offer technical expertise and mentorship to project leadership and staff.
  • Support marketing and proposal efforts for high-profile engineering projects.
  • Coordinate with clients and teaming partners on technical project aspects.
  • Ensure consistency of engineering standards and practices across disciplines and projects.
  • Identify, share, and implement industry best practices and innovations.
  • Represent HNTB as a thought leader, contributing through presentations, articles, and advisory committee work.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 12 years of relevant experience, or
  • Master’s degree in Engineering and 11 years of relevant experience, or
  • PhD in Engineering and 10 years of relevant experience

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering
  • 20+ years of relevant experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Familiarity with CTDOT standards and project delivery processes

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range (Rocky Hill, CT): $161,512.36 – $258,000.27 annually (final offer depends on qualifications, skills, and experience).
