We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper with a background in the property industry to manage the financial administration of our property portfolio. This part-time role involves handling various financial tasks, ensuring accurate records, and supporting the overall financial health of our properties.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Transactions Management: Oversee and record financial transactions related to property rentals, purchases, and sales.
  • Income Reconciliation: Reconcile rental income, service charges, and other property-related payments.
  • Deposit Management: Maintain accurate records of tenant deposits and process deposit returns.
  • Invoice Processing: Handle invoices and payments for contractors, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Expense Tracking: Manage utility bills, maintenance costs, and other property-related expenses.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with property managers to ensure timely rent collection and payment of property-related expenses.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with property tax regulations and VAT returns, where applicable.
  • Audit Preparation: Support the preparation of financial documents for audits and regulatory compliance.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven bookkeeping experience, ideally within the property or real estate industry.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of property accounting principles, including service charges, rental income, and tax implications.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple financial accounts simultaneously.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication abilities to liaise effectively with tenants, landlords, and service providers.
