About the Role
As our Art and Design Technology Teacher, you will play a key role in engaging young people in learning, inspiring creativity, and helping them recognise their strengths. Reporting directly to the Head of Learning, you will bring strong curriculum knowledge and a commitment to high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment.
This role involves teaching small groups of young people with complex needs who are deprived of their liberty. You will work in a well-equipped DT room and must feel confident supporting vulnerable students while managing high-risk tools safely. Collaboration with our Care and Health teams is essential, and the wellbeing of each young person will always be at the heart of your practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan clear and purposeful teaching objectives, ensuring each lesson has meaningful assessment opportunities
- Set tasks that spark curiosity, challenge learners, and maintain high levels of engagement
- Establish expectations that support progress and personal growth
- Build on learners’ prior knowledge, identify gaps, and set achievable yet ambitious targets
