Job Description

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

If you’re passionate about delivering exceptional care and ready to grow within a supportive clinical environment, this opportunity within our Critical Care Unit could be the perfect next step in your nursing career.

About the Role

Our 15-bed Critical Care Unit plays a vital part in supporting both Sherwood Forest Hospitals and the wider East Midlands Critical Care Network. The unit is fast-moving, clinically stimulating, and constantly evolving—an ideal place for nurses who enjoy working in a dynamic setting where every day brings new learning and new challenges.

We are looking for enthusiastic, adaptable Registered Nurses who can respond confidently to the complex and changing needs of critically ill patients. You will work closely with experienced colleagues, contribute to high-quality patient care, and be part of a team where collaboration, compassion, and professional development are genuinely valued.

Why Join Us?

Working with Sherwood Forest Hospitals means becoming part of an award-winning NHS Foundation Trust that cares for more than 420,000 people across Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood, and parts of Derbyshire and Lincolnshire. We believe that patients should always receive the same standard of care that we would want for our own families—and we expect our teams to treat each other with the same respect, kindness, and courtesy.

Our commitment to clinical leadership and staff wellbeing has been recognised repeatedly. For seven consecutive years, colleagues have voted us the best acute Trust to work for in the East Midlands through the National NHS Staff Survey. The Care Quality Commission has also rated our Trust outstanding for care, with King’s Mill Hospital named the only outstanding NHS-run acute hospital in the region.

Visa Sponsorship Information

Please note that not all roles across the Trust are eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. To check which healthcare positions meet current immigration requirements, please review the official UK government guidance here:

Home Office regulations changed on 9 April, which may affect applicants who need to switch visa categories. This means that even if a post appears on the Shortage Occupation List, sponsorship may not always be possible.
