Graduates from the world’s top tertiary institutions, who are still at the beginning of their careers, will now be able to submit short -term visas to live and work in the UK.
Starting Monday, the British government said people who have graduated, in the last five years, from one of the leading universities that meet the requirements registered on their website, will be able to submit an application for the British “high individual potential visa”.
Successful applicants will be given a two -year visa, while those who have PhD will be offered a three -year visa. Graduates given by the HPI visa will also be able to switch to other long -term work visas, if they meet the feasibility requirements.
Partners and children of graduates can also register to join, or live with them, in the UK.
To register, graduates will need a valid passport or other travel documents that show their identity and citizenship. This will be available for those who meet the requirements regardless of their citizenship or where they are born. Applicants must also prove that they have at least the English level “B1”, where they can communicate with native speakers without effort.
The application fee for a visa is £ 715 ($ 904), along with £ 210 to verify that their qualifications are valid, or £ 252 if they apply from the UK.
In addition, applicants must pay additional health care costs, so they can use the UK national health services, which usually £ 624 for each year they will be in British applicants must also prove that they can support themselves by showing that they have at least £ 1,270 in their bank account, although this can be released.
Applicants will usually find out whether they have succeeded in 3 weeks if they apply from outside the UK and 8 weeks if they are in England, and switch from other visas.
