If you are an innovative, enthusiastic, and highly motivated nurse dedicated to delivering outstanding, patient-focused care, this could be the perfect next step in your career.
We are excited to offer opportunities for experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioners to join our dedicated ANP team in primary care. - Education and mentoring
- Leadership
- Research, audit, and quality improvement

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

- Strong communication abilities
- Confidence to work independently, drawing on your clinical judgment, initiative, and expertise to make sound decisions
If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!

Important details
- The advertised salary is based on full-time hours (37 hours per week). Part-time roles will be pro-rated accordingly.
- From 1 April 2026, the standard full-time working week under Agenda for Change will reduce to 36 hours (with pro-rata adjustments for part-time staff). The hourly rate will increase to ensure your overall pay remains the same.
Pre-employment requirements
Due to upcoming legislative changes effective from 1 April 2025, this position may require an updated criminal records check under the new Disclosure Scotland framework. If classified as a “regulated role,” you’ll need to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. We’ll confirm any specific requirements during the recruitment process. For more information on these changes, visit the Disclosure Scotland website.
Please note: To work in the UK, you must have the appropriate legal permission (e.g., right to work via visa, EU settled/pre-settled status, or other routes). NHS Scotland will verify this as part of pre-employment checks. For full details, refer to GOV.UK.
In some cases, if you don’t currently have the right to work in the UK, sponsorship under a Skilled Worker or Health & Care Worker visa might be possible—but only if the employer holds a sponsor license and the role meets the minimum salary threshold and “going rate.” Check the latest criteria on GOV.UK before applying.
It is essential that you confirm your eligibility to work in the UK (or sponsorship potential) before submitting your application.
We strongly encourage early applications, as we cannot accept late submissions.
NHS Scotland is deeply committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion. We actively welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and aim to build a workforce that truly reflects our communities—where everyone feels valued, respected, and able to contribute their best.
Ready to take on this rewarding challenge? We’d be thrilled to have you on board!
