Job Description

Join Our Dynamic Research & Development Team as a Research Nurse

We are thrilled to offer a fantastic position for a passionate and driven professional to become part of our Research & Development department at NHS Forth Valley. In this role, you’ll play a key part in providing top-notch support and care to individuals participating in our studies, collaborating closely with a diverse multidisciplinary group to ensure smooth operations from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

Your day to day work will involve overseeing various aspects of clinical trials, such as identifying potential participants from active research sites within our organization and handling their recruitment process. You’ll also manage essential tasks like collecting samples, gathering detailed study data, and ensuring everything aligns with approved protocols, sponsor guidelines, and our internal standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies.

Record-keeping is crucial here, so you’ll use a mix of paper-based systems, digital patient management tools, and specialized online platforms to maintain precise and up-to-date information. Additionally, you’ll contribute to advancing projects independently while adhering strictly to all relevant regulations.

Travel across our service areas will be necessary to support these activities effectively.

What We are Looking For

To thrive in this position, you should be a qualified Registered Nurse with hands-on experience after registration, ideally in clinical research settings and various acute care specialties. A degree-level education is essential, along with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

We value candidates who can operate autonomously, show strong initiative in driving initiatives forward, and demonstrate meticulous attention to detail. Outstanding communication and organizational abilities are a must, as is proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and electronic health record systems for managing research-related tasks.

A valid Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification is required for this role.

The successful candidate must join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme, which helps safeguard those in our care. For details on how this works, visit the official site at www.disclosurescotland.co.uk.
