Exciting Opportunity: Ground Service Equipment Technician at Swissport

Where You Will Work

• Location: Edinburgh Airport, UK
• Shift Pattern: Rotating 4 days on, 4 days off – perfect for balancing work and life!

What the Role Involves

We are on the hunt for enthusiastic team members who can handle servicing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of ground support equipment (GSE). Your day-to-day will include carrying out regular preventive checks, fixing issues as they arise, and logging all your work into our dedicated fleet management system. Occasionally, you might need to jump in for after-hours calls to keep operations flying high.

Your Main Duties

• Perform thorough safety checks and routine upkeep on GSE.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems.
• Update records in our system with inspection results and repair notes.
• Be available for emergency responses outside normal hours when needed.

What We are Looking For in You

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:

• A completed apprenticeship as a technician, with qualifications like City & Guilds or similar.
• At least one year of hands-on experience after your training.
• Strong skills in mechanics, diagnostics, and pinpointing faults.
• Eagerness to pick up new techniques and expand your expertise.
• Solid understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical setups.
• A proactive, positive mindset with a real team spirit and get it done energy.
• Welding skills are a bonus, but not required.
• Comfort working outdoors in all kinds of weather.
• Your own set of tools to get the job done.
• Flexibility to travel for training or to support other Swissport sites.
• Ability to clear a DBS security check.

Plus, you’ll need a full, valid UK driving license.
