Clinical Support Worker – Community Nursing
Job Description
Join Our Team as a Clinical Support Worker in District Nursing
We are thrilled to offer a fantastic role for a dedicated and energetic Clinical Support Worker to become part of our vibrant District Nursing teams. In this position, you’ll collaborate closely with a diverse group of healthcare professionals, delivering everyday care to patients while being guided and overseen by experienced District Nurses or Registered Nurses. We’re looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills, solid writing abilities, and familiarity with basic computer systems to help keep everything running smoothly.
What You will Be Doing
Your day-to-day will focus on offering hands-on personal care to individuals receiving palliative or end-of-life support right in the comfort of their homes. Once you’ve completed the necessary training, you’ll handle a range of clinical tasks independently, including blood draws, giving medications, managing catheters, and performing other suitable health checks.
You will also lend a hand to your colleagues, such as staff nurses and those in training, fostering a supportive team environment. Your efforts will center on fulfilling patients’ unique needs to ensure they receive thoughtful and effective care.
We value independence in this role—you’ll often make decisions on your own and know when to loop in a registered expert for advice. Expect some solo shifts, and since you’ll be visiting patients across our service area, having the drive and means to travel is a must.
Essential Qualifications and Checks
The person we hire will need to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. For details, check out www.disclosurescotland.co.uk.
